Ramanujacharya spent at least twelve years in Melukote (may-lu-ko-tay), setting up strict standards of deity worship still followed today. Melukote is also referred as Thirunarayanapuram or Yadavagiri or Vedagiri (means Veda hill from which Lord Dattatreya instructed his disciples).
